THE TOUR
Valencia is home to paella. Here’s where it all began. And on this food tour, you’ll understand exactly what having a proper Paella Valenciana means.
A friendly local guide will explain its fascinating origins and traditional preparation in a renowned restaurant popular among Valencians. With foodies from around the world, you’ll enjoy the traditional flavors of this delectable dish and, of course, delicious local wine.
Throughout this culinary journey, you can expect to sample a wide variety of local specialties in a diverse set of places. Not only will you try premium olive oil, high-quality cured ham, and artisan cheeses at one of the oldest central markets in Europe. But also typical local drinks like horchata and sweets like fartons in an authentic family-owned cafeteria.
But to experience Valencia’s food culture, you cannot miss the esmorzaret, or loosely translated mid-morning snack. This “second breakfast of the day” originally began as a necessity for manual laborers to sustain themselves until the typical late lunch hour. But today it has grown into a morning ritual of connecting, savoring, and celebrating life’s simple pleasures.
