If you wish to fully experience Portuguese culture, you won’t want to miss Fado music. This is why we designed this tour so that you can experience not only its cuisine but also the sounds of its expressive singing.
THE TOUR
In Fado music, the concept of saudade, which cannot be translated, is the cornerstone of its emotional essence. It’s about an intense, bittersweet longing for something or someone absent, capturing the feelings of nostalgia, yearning, melancholy, and hope.
In other words, rather than just learning about it, you’ll feel saudade.
But that’s not all! You’ll visit authentic places where locals hang out and enjoy traditional delicacies. Find yourself in places you would have otherwise missed, experiencing Portuguese cuisine at its finest.
So on this Lisbon Fado & Food Tour, you’ll explore these two key highlights of Portuguese culture in the most authentic setting away from the tourist trails.
Highlights
- Enjoy petiscos, or Portuguese tapas, in 2 traditional local spots. Then enjoy dinner at an authentic Fado restaurant with drinks pairing.
- Begin your evening with a tasty welcome drink and small bites, such as an iconic Portuguese sandwich, in a typical local tavern.
- Embrace the tradition of savoring a pre-dinner treat in a modern Mercearia, a delicatessen shop. You’ll taste the finest cheeses and mouthwatering cold cuts here, made by small, local producers. While sipping on a delicious glass of Portuguese wine, of course.
- You’ll end the evening on a memorable musical note at Casa do Fado. While enjoying a classic Portuguese dinner paired with premium wines, you’ll immerse yourself in beautiful music that evokes feelings of saudade.
