THE TOUR
This French southwestern city has a rich history dating back to Roman times. During the 18th century, it was one of Europe’s major ports, playing a big role in trade, especially wine and colonial goods.
But it’s not just about the wine that makes Bordeaux a must-visit. There are plenty of tasty local specialties to choose from, like scrumptious pastries, ham, cheese, and so much more. All are fresh, seasonal, and high quality. It would be our pleasure to show you this rich food culture!
On this morning food tour, you’ll get a real insight into Bordeaux’s history, culture, and food scene while walking through the old town.
Highlights
- You’ll start the day with fresh and warm artisanal pastries at a local bakery or boulangerie. The chocolatine and canelé are on the menu.
- Get to the most emblematic market in town where you’ll sample rare and high-quality charcuterie from the region.
- Nearby Arcachon Bay is famous for its fresh oysters and locals love them. Now it’s your chance to try them with a nice glass of fruity white wine in a most authentic bistrot. If you’re hesitant, don’t panic. We’ll give you wonderful alternatives.
- Of course, we cannot forget French cheese! You’ll taste the finest local cheeses and learn what makes it a must-try from a top cheese maker.
- You can only have a Bordeaux food tour if you taste wine. Discover what goes into producing these special regional wines.
- Last but not least, we’ll finish in a traditional Bordelais restaurant for lunch. This carefully selected restaurant is renowned in Bordeaux for its creative approach to French classics. And they only cook with seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers.
So, please come hungry. Our local guide can’t wait to host you!
