Do you also love exploring markets, venturing off the beaten path, and uncovering hidden delicatessens bursting with flavor? If that’s the case, join this food tour! Explore one of Barcelona’s most beautiful Modernist markets, where local vendors share their family traditions and fresh, seasonal ingredients.
THE TOUR
Local markets are a feast for the senses and a window into a city’s culture and daily life. And even more so when you find yourself in an elegant 19th-century Modernist setting, don’t you think?
On this midday tour, you’ll connect with local vendors, learn about traditional ingredients, and experience the vibrant atmosphere at the heart of Barcelona’s community. This particular market has become a cornerstone of the neighborhood over the decades, known for its personal connections between vendors and customers.
And our local guide also has a special connection to this place. As you hop between stalls and savor authentic flavors, your host brings the experience to life with personal childhood anecdotes from a typical Catalan home.
Here’s your chance to explore a local market away from the crowds while meeting some fun, energetic people!
Highlights
- The market is a treasure trove of high-quality, fresh products, such as seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood, local meats, cheeses, and artisanal goods. And you´re going to sample them! Expect a diverse selection of 10-12 regional specialties.
- In a small group, you´ll have the chance to interact directly with the local culture and share this foodie passion with fellow travelers.
- You’ll meet passionate Catalan grocers, butchers, and bakers we personally know and selected for their expertise and reputation. Many of these market stands have stayed in the same families for generations, making their owners true experts and invaluable sources of knowledge.
- Come see what sweet dessert surprise we’ve got, paired with delicious Catalan champagne or Cava…
