What is esmorzaret? You’ll experience this morning’s food tradition like a true Valencian in places you won’t find easily alone. And sample all the delicious dishes and drinks Valencia is famous for. A full immersion into Valencian morning life.
THE TOUR
There’s a Valencian food tradition called the esmorzaret, loosely translated as a mid-morning snack. This hearty meal originated among manual laborers, such as farmers and fishermen, who needed enough energy to continue their workday until the typical late lunch hour at around 3 PM.
And you’ll learn all about this special custom on this food tour!
But there’s more. Walk through the different parts of town you won’t find alone. Our friendly host will show you how locals live and interact in the city, telling stories about families running their businesses for generations. You’ll sample many of Valencia’s famous dishes and drinks: orange juice, horchata with fartons...
And a visit to the Central Market, one of the oldest markets in Europe, shouldn’t be missed. You’ll be surrounded by stunning Art Nouveau architecture while savoring delicious Iberian ham, cheese, and different types of olive oil from the region.
You’ll feel and live like a local on this morning walking food tour!
