THE TOUR
So what are petiscos you might wonder? You could describe them as the Portuguese version of Spanish tapas. The Portuguese also love sharing delicious small dishes and having fun with their loved ones, just like the Spaniards. Similar Mediterranean feel, but they gave it their own spin with local ingredients and recipes.
And Porto is indeed different, too! Food in this city is known for its hearty, rustic dishes, often made with simple, high-quality ingredients typically from the north and cooler climates. And its river-to-sea influence shouldn’t be underestimated! With its location at the mouth of the Douro River, Portuenses enjoy both river and Atlantic seafood.
And of course, Porto is world-famous for its port wine. We won’t forget to savor this delicious local drink…
As you can see, Porto’s cuisine is diverse and that’s exactly what you can expect on this fun petiscos food crawl tour. This is your chance to experience Porto’s delicious cuisine and where locals eat.
