New to Porto and wondering where the true gourmet spots are? Join this food tour that goes beyond the typical crawl. You’ll dive deep into Porto’s high-end dining scene.
THE TOUR
On this gourmet food tour, you’ll explore a charming and artistic neighborhood, known for its vibrant atmosphere, historic streets, and strong connection to local culture. It’s also one of the oldest parts of town, with roots dating back to Roman times. Many of its residents are locals who have lived there for generations, giving the area a genuine and welcoming vibe.
But it’s also an excellent place to sample cutting-edge petiscos, or Portuguese tapas, and pair these with a glass of tasty Vinho Verde or Port wine! You’ll go to authentic hangout spots where the Portuenses warm up their stomachs with appetisers.
Then, you’ll get the real deal. Indulge in a sophisticated dining experience at one of Porto’s most prestigious restaurants.
Highlights
- Sample a wide array of gourmet petiscos, the Portuguese equivalent of tapas, and a full fine dining experience.
- You’ll go to a charming petiscos & wine bar housed in a converted 19th-century chapel. A refreshing glass of vinho verde, green wine, and delicious small bites await you.
- Embrace the local tradition of aperitifs at a mercearia, or gourmet grocery store. This is a typical place, inspired by traditional 20th-century Portuguese grocers, where locals enjoy artisanal products from small producers. So expect to savor an extensive selection of tasty port wines, cheeses, cured meats, and preserves.
- Formerly a car workshop, it’s now a cutting-edge restaurant serving innovative haute cuisine dishes in honor of Porto’s culinary heritage. Here, you’ll get to know another side of Porto’s diverse food scene. And of course, all these delectable dishes get paired perfectly with Portugal’s award-winning wines!
