The origins of the word PICOTEO lie in the verb “picar” which means eating small bites from several shared plates, also known as “tapeo” (tapas crawl).
In the early evening we will take you on a tour around the most emblematic highlights of one of Madrid’s most vibrant neighbourhoods for three hours. Our culinary journey starts in the North of Spain, with a traditional bodega serving delicious Galician-style tapas, a local classic that’s been around for decades.
In the next three stops we will try soe amazing meat and fish dishes from Madrid, along with some cold draft beer and local wines.
We’ll end up in the South, at an Andalusian restaurant. An outstanding discovery, a family-owned gem spcialising in tapas where you will enjoy incredible dishes as well as luxurious desserts for a real and authentic foodie experience.
5 stops. You will go to five different spots on a tapas crawl in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of Madrid that is crowded with local foodies.
A full meal. Taste 10-12 tapas servings that are broadly equivalent to a full meal.
Drinks. Have one drink at each stop ranging from refreshing draft beer, excellent wines, vermouth to non-alcoholic beverages. We will advise you on what drink goes with what food but you choose.
Hand-picked places. Choosing the best bar in each area is not an easy task, even for a madrileño (Madrid native) due to the rich offering. We’ll do it for you by personally selecting the most authentic and exquisite stops so all you have to do is to be hungry at the meeting point.

We had an absolutely wonderful night on the Gourmet Food Tour. The guide took us to two delicious tapas places before surprising us with a dinner at one of Barcelona's best restaurants.
This is a really good, personal tour. We selected the gourmet tour to celebrate my birthday and we were very pleased with the venues selected and the experience, would recommend to anyone visiting Barcelona for the first time.
Not only did we get to experience food in restaurants we would never have found on our own, we also were provided with the history of the city and how food is playing such an important role in its future.
